WISE, VIRGINIA-JULY 24: Nurse Betty George (left) from Harrisonburg, Virginia talks to a volunteer during the registration process for free medical care with The Remote Area Medical Expedition during a two and half day event at the Virginia-Kentucky July 24, 2009. RAM transformed farm buildings into a makeshift field hospital to treat 2,715 people.  Patients came from as far away as New York for treatment. Organizers estimate that they provided over $1.6 million USD worth of care.
